I watched the event live earlier today. It looks like they did a good job of keeping the spirit of the original games. I'm looking forward to it. The Age of Empires franchise is probably my favorite, though I'd still like to see another Age of Mythology.

Not sure if that was ever their actual intention, but I'm glad they didn't go through with it. As much as I loved the original and 3, I greatly prefer the eras represented in 2.
Looks like they've not made a remake of aoe2 which I was a little worried about. I love the look of trees as cover for ambushes and manning troops on walls.

While this does look great in my eyes, the visuals and animations look more like a game from 2009 than 2021. Still, looking forward to it.
