I'm also highly functioning myself, and I can relate to a lot in this article. I especially connect with the exhausted part - I can usually do okay in public environments, but it's very draining,...

I'm also highly functioning myself, and I can relate to a lot in this article. I especially connect with the exhausted part - I can usually do okay in public environments, but it's very draining, both emotionally and physically. I've mostly gotten really lucky in life, but I curse having Asperger's, it absolutely sucks. :(

I'm not sure I would want to share too much, but i said earlier that I'm a high functioning schizoaffective. I hallucinate 24/7 but it is almost always visual. I can tell what are hallucinations...

I'm not sure I would want to share too much, but i said earlier that I'm a high functioning schizoaffective. I hallucinate 24/7 but it is almost always visual. I can tell what are hallucinations and not. It's just a major annoyance more than anything. I only question some stuff I hear.

I'm on SSI and medicaid so everything is paid for. Right now I've been in therapy for about 6 months and we are still just talking about social anxiety that I've had my whole life.

I definitely relate to this article, and as a HFA who doesn't really try to keep a facade because I have no idea what I would facade as, it's really clear to anyone who actually tries to talk to me that I am more than just a weird quiet kid, and can't really communicate with people in even somewhat loud spaces like school break because the amount of people already talking in the background practically overrides whatever they're saying, and because of this I don't really have real friends :/
