I’ve put about 70-80 miles on the e-bike. Riding my acoustic bike later this evening, so I’m hoping the e-bike hasn’t totally spoiled me. I’ve been trying not to use high assistance levels unless I’m on a busy road or trying to get up a steep hill.

I bought an eMTB and am rocking it up the hills every other day. I haven't had this much fun on wheels since I rode that red tricycle when I was like four.

I certainly huff and puff way more when riding a regular bike.

A few years ago, I ran a half marathon, being dragged along by a friend who was running it. I didn't train as much as I should have and got an awful blister part way through, and ended up having to stay off my feet for about 3 days afterwards.

This past week, I ran that same half marathon, more as a personal challenge to see if I could do better. I used the Hal Higdon training regimen, and felt very prepared going in. I guess I wasn't, since I did about 15 minutes worse on my run time :(

In retrospect, I should have tempered my expectations. I've had issues with tendonitis rear up since my first run, and I've aged a few years. What I do feel good about is that with all the training, I was feeling pretty much right as rain the next day! So that was pretty great - main takeaway? If you want a good time, be young and in shape lol. But no matter what age you are, proper preparation is the key to not hurting yourself.

Just got over covid today. I finally felt ready to get back on my bike. I could tell my lungs weren't at 100% but I still managed to do my easier route just fine, although a few minutes behind my normal pace. Hopefully the path to full recovery isn't too long.

I've lost about 15 pounds since I last posted that I'd lost 10lbs, which feels pretty good. It's been extremely slow, but honestly, I'm fine with it. I can't stand to do careful tracking, it just makes me frustrated, so I'm just trying to generally trend reducing.

My partner wants to start going back to the gym (we stopped because I did not have a job for a while and wanted to cut back on expenses). I'm a bit unsure, as I find that my bad knee feels a lot better with the break... if I do go back, I'll have to be careful.
