I didn't read the article because I'm not in a good place to take it in right now, but I still remember the shaken baby syndrome video they made us watch just hours before sending us home. We had been in the hospital for 3 days and were exhausted and stressed out.
The video included warnings about the risks from both parents and other caregivers. It nearly put me over the edge. I felt like if I couldn't trust myself or anyone else with the baby, and how were we going to manage?
In the end we got home, (eventually) slept, and the fear faded as we learned the ins and outs of parenting a newborn. But definitely one of the more traumatic experiences of the experience for me.
