Hello my beautiful, valued, wonderful Tildes Fitness Pals! I check this thread weekly and love to hear how y'all are doing and holding up in your fitness journeys. I am happy to report I'm back on the fitness train. For a while I wasn't really doing anything and a lot of that was from a myriad of health issues that kept popping up and trying to tackle that. But now I'm freshly motivated and been doing some workouts for the past month or so!

I've been doing indoor bike riding usually during weekdays, sometimes weekends. At minimum I do 20 minutes, especially at the start of it because my stamina was so low. I've been slowly increasing it and doing different pacing. I'll do sprints or heavier resistance, keeping up certain RPMs for X amount of time etc. I've definitely seen an improvement in cardio and my sleep and stress levels lol. Who knew?

The other workouts I've been doing are from a friend's fitness program. His friend does coaching for roller derby players and he gets the workouts for free, so I've been doing them with him or by myself. I really like the conditioning workouts, and I've definitely seen improvement in how easily I've been able to do them. It's been really nice!

And just overall it's been nice to get back and do something. The bonus is I get to do all these at home, which is something that was holding me back a bit internally.

I'm looking forward to seeing what everyone else has been up to this week!

Indoor biking is how I got started on my own fitness journey about 5 years ago too. IMO it's almost the perfect way to kick things off. Exercise bikes are reasonably affordable, so it's not a huge commitment to get one; They don't take up too much room, and can pretty easily be moved around; And you also don't have to worry about the weather, or any personal insecurities you may have about the way you look. But best of all, in my eyes, is that you can just watch a show or movie or youtube while you do it. :P That, more than anything, helped motivate me to actually start doing it regularly.

I finally got rid of mine a few months ago when we moved though, in favor of taking my parent's old elliptical (which they rarely ever used) for myself. And I actually enjoy it quite a bit more than biking since I get a decent upper-body workout too. But I don't think I would have regretted keeping the bike instead, TBH. I may even buy another one at some point, just for some variety... although I am genuinely tempted to get myself a rowing machine instead after trying one out the other day. It was way more difficult than the elliptical, but also actually pretty fun. :P
