Fitness Weekly Discussion
What have you been doing lately for your own fitness? Try out any new programs or exercises? Have any questions for others about your training? Want to vent about poor behavior in the gym? Started a new diet or have a new recipe you want to share? Anything else health and wellness related?
I started running with my 10 year old two weeks ago. Both of us need to work on our cardio, myself a lot more than him. I'm an out of shape 33 year old and his legs are much shorter than mine so we actually make a pretty great running duo as far as keeping up with each other. It's been really nice so far. We're only doing about 1.5 miles at a time right now but even doing a short run like that feels way better than doing nothing.
I’ve had lots of interruptions in my routine so I am really happy that I have finally had the need to increase the weight on my seated rows. Finally, I’m back on track on increasing my strength! This is the first actual increase I’ve managed since I figured out that I was doing all the exercises wrong, so it’s pretty landmark for me.
Its been a while since i posted in one of these. I hit near my goal weight(165lbs) at the end of april at 168lbs. And then i moved and then went to south korea/china for a trip that included a wedding. I LOVE korean/chinese cooking so i went completely HAM. I gained 14lbs in two weeks. Im starting to pull that back down, at 176lbs again. Climbing has been hard-ish, im guessing the extra weight is being quite the zealous agent in the various forces opposing me up the wall. First few sessions i was barely hitting v4's at a gym i expect to be flashing them at. Improving now as my skin, strength, and flexibility start realigning to climbing requirements.
I have a dexa scan coming up so ive been trying to really get back to my more normal weight. It was free, otherwise i would have chosen a better time sometime early next month when ill definitely be closer to my goal weight again.
The girlfriend has REALLY been giving me shit though and its been hard to live with. Everything from not snacking, calorie counting, avoiding carbs, going to the gym as often as i do, going as hard as i do, biking to and from the gym is even apparently "too much". I hear about my choices all the time and rarely does she consider her own under the same microscope. Its been very stressful and annoying because she knew who i was when we started dating and she loves how fit i am and all these other things but hates how much effort i put into it??
