Sweden's state epidemiologist Anders Tegnell insists that the country generally had a good strategy for fighting the coronavirus, after his own critical comments on the approach gained international media attention.
A Swedish Radio interview with Tegnell, where he admitted that Sweden perhaps should have taken some of the measures adopted in other countries, was reported on by the Guardian and New York Times among others.
But in the public health agency's daily briefing on Wednesday, Tegnell said that his comments had been overinterpreted.

I opined originally that this guy was basically a murderer, which was a bit of a hot take; I deleted my comment on the original article - he's clearly not a murderer, but just a guy trying to make good decisions who made a bad one. However, his decision did lead to a number of unnecessary deaths, by his own admission.

I opined originally that this guy was basically a murderer, which was a bit of a hot take; I deleted my comment on the original article - he's clearly not a murderer, but just a guy trying to make good decisions who made a bad one.
