Fitness Weekly Discussion

What have you been doing lately for your own fitness? Try out any new programs or exercises? Have any questions for others about your training? Want to vent about poor behavior in the gym? Started a new diet or have a new recipe you want to share? Anything else health and wellness related?

    I've been working out a few years now and can't progress past 100lb dumbbell presses. Any time I do I get shoulder pain or tennis elbow in my left shoulder. I ignored it so long and just kept pushing through the pain that I'm hoping I didn't permanently injure it. I've hit plateaus before but only regarding strength, not joint pain. I think I'll give supplements a try but I don't have much hope there.

    Weight update I've broken the 250lbs barrier: 247 lbs. Not expecting to keep that trend over the next few weeks but as long as I don't go drastically above 250, I'll be happy. My Christmas is this...

    I've broken the 250lbs barrier: 247 lbs. Not expecting to keep that trend over the next few weeks but as long as I don't go drastically above 250, I'll be happy. My Christmas is this upcoming weekend.

    Diet

    Haven't done much of any cooking lately. Just ordering out or eating snacks. I've let the cold weather exacerbate my laziness.

    Fitness

    Still, still not back to the gym. My headlight issue appears to be a headlight switch issue, and there's no official Subaru parts in Canada. So I'll have to order a part in to get a mechanic to put it in and hope it fixes it.

    Body Aching

    Still ouching, that has not changed. I'm thinking it's the cold + the weight loss. Body (specifically the kidney) is working too hard.

    I took out the mountain bike I posted about this weekend. It was super fun, although I suspect it's more fun if you're in a group. One of my friends has expressed interest in renting a mountain bike - so we should be tearing up some dirt together next month. Slowly I'll build up my confidence and start doing wilder things. This first run had me very cautious - don't want to spoil the experience and get a sprain right off the bat. The area I went to has this little quarry that's got excellent smooth slopes on all sides that are great for cruising down and then launching up the other side.

    I biked to the office three days this week! I won’t hit my weekly target of 50 miles because I’ll be showing my dog all weekend, but that’ll be plenty of exercise anyway.

    I’m coming up on a full year of maintaining my weight, the past few months without the aid of calorie counting.
