Antkeepers of Tildes, what are your thoughts on brood boosting?

Personally I think brood boosting is perfectly fine, as long as you only take a small amount of brood, say 10-15 pupae. What are your thoughts on boosting?

I don’t think Tildes is large enough to have more than one ant keeper, but ants are neat so go ahead and talk about it.

I tried starting a colony last year and my queens died out so maybe there would be two of us if fate didn't happen! I will say the ant keeping community is a pretty friendly one overall!

It is common practice to move an extra frame of brood from a strong hive to a weak one, to help boost its pop ... although you have to consider why it's weak in the first place; often better to replace the queen.
