    As someone who practices HEMA, Tod and Matt are amazing. Tod finds some of the weirdest stuff from texts or museums, and then makes them. Then gets his buddy and world renowned HEMAist Matt Easton to workshop it.

    Really fun to bring these up with fellow Historical Fencers and see what their take is on them as well; because everyone who reads the manuals and treatises gives a slightly different take.

    Very cool, didn't know caged bucklers even existed, or caged shields in general. I wonder why they weren't more popular. I'm sure the cost was a lot higher than a shield without that corrugation...

I'm sure the cost was a lot higher than a shield without that corrugation and metal bars on the front, but seems like something that could have been useful in a lot of places.
