A lot of American local news sites won't allow international access, I've never quite understood it, but most of them seem to have some sort of geo lock.

I suspect it's because their sites (or parts of them) are not GDPR compliant, and rather than spend money to fix the issues they just redirect EU viewers away from them instead, so they don't have...
