Earlier this week I was lucky enough to be exploring the ancient city of Pompeii and part of the tour led us to a house that contained a brothel. It was extremely refreshing to hear the guide explain to the older people that sexuality, gender, and the overall idea of sex was very liberal and you could find anything for anyone even 500 years BC.
Watching people get educated that it’s been perfectly natural and acceptable for thousands of years and really only grew a stigma after the interpretation of religion was a breath of fresh air. Having more evidence of such acceptance only helps to reinforce that humanity has always had various ranges.
