    So the same ECJ 2018 ruling that literally said the exact same thing yet Poland, Bulgaria, and Romania still completely ignore with no repercussion?

    I want to remain positive, I really do, but the lack of enforcement or penalties for failing to adhere to ECJ rulings keeps proving that they do very little to actually change things, at least when it comes to LGBTQ+ rights.

      Yeah, I thought about the older, similar court ruling too. It's not 100% the same but the meaning is similar enough. We really should be enforcing ECJ rulings though power exercised at the EU level.

    Assuming this then must be done through soft-state political stress?

    The judges note that their decision does not compel member states to amend their domestic legislation to recognise same-sex marriage, instead obliging them to recognise marriages lawfully concluded in another EU country.

    The procedure must be applied "without distinction" or additional hurdles.
