While organizers of Saturday’s straight pride rally in Modesto had envisioned an event that would draw several hundred people, the rally turned out to be a few dozen people gathered in a barn, which was cut short by the venue’s owner, followed by a protest in front of Planned Parenthood, which was closed. The straight pride protesters in front of Planned Parenthood on McHenry Avenue were met by the counter protesters from Enslen Park around 1 p.m. Counter protesters chanted to drown out the straight pride protesters. Police said there were about 200 people at the Planned Parenthood protest. That included about 20 straight pride supporters carrying signs and banners.

Reading about "straight pride" would usually make me write scathing commentary in response, but... I don't think I can do worse than what the organizers of this disaster did to themselves. A few dozen people, protesting in front of a closed Planned Parenthood place, were met by ten times their number in counter-protesters.

Bay Area chiropractor Don Grundmann who helped bring the rally to Modesto said it does not matter that his side was outnumbered because “that does not change the truth of our message. They talk about diversity and attack us. So-called diversity and tolerance is a one-way street.”

The poor dear, attacked by a peaceful counter-protest.

According to its website, the coalition is protecting traditional gender roles, Christianity, heterosexuality, Western Civilization, babies, and the contributions of whites to Western Civilization from the malevolence of the homosexual movement.

And for literally no reason at all! Truly, the malevolence of the Velvet Mafia knows no bounds.

At least they kept those scary, scary milkshakes home - this time.

I like that even the owner of the barn they rented stood against them, though. For some reason, they neglected to inform him of what their rally was about. Probably just an oversight, considering how righteous their cause is, but people... ah, people always think the worst!

    Bah, what a wretched lot.
