Thank you for this. I was searching for a short and sweet article laying out how this is a concerted effort by the right. I'm still waiting to see something like this detailing the origins of the whole stupid kink at pride is non-consensual idiocy that's erupted online but not holding my breath on that one.

Yeah, absolutely. I think it is extremely important to emphasize the bigotry-fueled targeting of trans individuals that is being undertaken by the Republican party. This may have started with the unfounded bathroom nonsense a year or two ago, but it has ramped up extremely quickly to targeting trans children in sports, including literal genital inspections of children, preventing medical treatments to deal with dysphoria and even preventing gender affirming surgery altogether in some states. Trans people are the Republican party's latest scapegoat in the nation's ongoing culture war and it is crucially important that recognize this and stand up for their rights across the board.

I am fairly certain that the whole "Kink at Pride" nonsense started from the controversial left-wing Youtuber Vaush. He was certainly the first time that I saw it really take off in the "discourse" this year.
