We're moving soon, so I can finally start thinking about getting a new dog. My last dog, Quincy, was a chonky, 85lbs of pure muscle, OEB, but I'm thinking about getting a much smaller dog this time. I kinda want to get a non-shedding dog this time too, since as much as I loved Quincy, our Staffordshire Bella before him, and my sister's Frenchie Bosco, I am sick of there being dog hair everywhere. :P

So yeah, smaller (under 30lbs), ideally non-shedding dog this time. I haven't had time to look into breeds much yet though, since I've been busy getting our house ready for sale. So does anyone here have any breed suggestions that fit those requirements?

My mom had a cockapoo for years. He didn't shed at all and he was a pleasure to be around.

My grandma had a cockapoo, lhasapoo, and shihpoo at various points, which were all sweet dogs. So I was definitely considering them already.

A pug and a good Roomba is the best decision here haha

Yeah, I have and love my robo vacuum. It definitely makes having a dog that sheds a lot easier to deal with, but hair still gets everywhere. The worst was seeing the sheer amount of hair in every load of laundry. Every week I swear I could have cobbled together a new dog using all the hair Quincy left on my clothes and bedding. :P

As for pugs, we actually had one named Lady back when I was in grade school, but she unfortunately somehow drowned in our pool. :( And I don't like getting the same breed of dogs again, since I'm worried the new dog will remind me too much of the previous ones I've lost. So Bichon Frise, Toy Poodle, Pug, Staffy and now OBE are off the table for me.
