She goes way deep into the history of things, talking about a 1958 Sovjet-US cultural exchange in which the USSR showcased their technology in the US and the US simply showcased an average house in the USSR.
Then about what she considers the origin of the house tour which is a Jackie Kennedy hosted tour of the White House, going on to discuss MTV Cribs, then the way current reality shows like the Osbournes or Kardashian basically use the celebrity's house as a character in and of itself, and finally back to what she opened the video with which is YouTube house tours with 73 Questions and Architectural Digest's channel.
And just to add a great quote from her in the video: "true wealth is being able to exist in a completely separate world from the rest of the population"

Decided to post Mina Le's stuff again! I don't want to get spammy but she is always fun and interesting to listen to and learn from 😊

I think that the one thing that intrigues me is how celebrity houses in contemporary programmes (compared to mid 2000s) are relatively "small" and populated in a chic, albeit grounded, way. As she put it, I've seen more and more "cozy" houses compared to the opulent mansions commonly found in MTV Cribs.
But what stuck with me the most is what Robin Leach said. In a way, none of these massive, marble-and-gold houses are meant to be comfortable, they're meant to act as a buffer between you as a rich person and the rest of reality. To certain groups, first class (or a private jet), a big walled-off fortress or private events are not about comfort, they're about exclusivity and not mingling with "the rabble".
Regardless, it's an excellent video, and it's not spammy at all! I'm glad to have come across this!

I don’t have time to watch the video but just wanted to add something to this comment: “I've seen more and more "cozy" houses compared to the opulent mansions commonly found in MTV Cribs.” The reason for this is that celebs used to hire mansions for MTV Cribs, it was rarely their own house. Notable exception was Redman, who’s house was markedly “normal” compared to all the others, because it was his actual house.

It's a long video so that's completely fair!
She indeed talks about exactly this, almost word for word 😅
Whoops! That’ll teach me to comment before watching :)
That is good to know and, well, I am happy to share!
I suppose she does upload videos infrequently enough that it's fine to submit them?
