    For many women, the cost of living crisis has highlighted the societal pressures to maintain a beauty routine and adhere to an increasingly unattainable standard they can no longer afford to meet. While the financial freedom to participate in beauty culture has dissipated for many, the pressures to present a certain way have not.

    ...is something worth discussion.

    I'm really glad my parents did not instill this kind of thinking in me. I still do get fancied up for very special occasions (light makeup, nice earrings, and a necklace), but for the most part I shoot for utility/practicality in how I live. I also love thrifting and buying used in general, which goes a long way.
