Looking for large high quality blanket recommendation
I'm a fairly tall person and my partner and I both really love large blankets. However, I'm not a big fan of the thin/plush style often sold at stores like Walmart. Does anyone have large, thick/quality blanket recommendations?
I've looked at BigBlanketCo but their blankets seem to be somewhat overpriced and underwhelming.
Material? Synthetic? Cotton? Wool? Down?
Style? Comforter? Quilt?
There are many types and styles of blankets so it's hard to narrow down without knowing what your limitations or goals are. For example, some people are allergic to down, so that rules out down blankets right out of the gate.

For wool, Pendleton blankets are premium quality at a premium price, but built to last many years. I also find that wool does a good job of regulating my temperature: never too hot and never too cool. It can be a bit scratchy though.

Here's a couple of examples for cheap blankets. I'm not sure this is what you're looking for, but people may find it useful.
If you want very cheap you can buy shoddy cloth blankets (commonly used by removal companies to protect furniture). These are made out of recycled material. You used to be able to buy pure wool, but at the moment it seems all of those material supply chains mix wool garments with synthetics, so the blankets have a lot of synthetic in them. They're made using a felting technique, and then lightly stitched over the top. That works well for wool, but it doesn't work well for synthetic material, so you'll get a lot of microplastic dust from these. However, you can buy 5 blankets about double duvet size for about £20 - £25 in the UK, and then stuff them into cotton double-duvet covers. This gives you a thick, heavy, VERY WARM, blanket that isn't scratchy.
You can also buy blankets from army surplus stores that are a wool / acrylic mix - sometimes 80% wool. These are cheap, but may need gentle patching.
I dunno how big your looking for but Hudson Bay blankets are amazing. King Size is setting you back a fair bit just for a blanket but they are premo!

Wow, I'm impressed that they donate the proceeds to a good cause. That would make me feel better about dropping that amount of cash.
If you really want to go nuts, you could get some animal hide. Sheepskins are luxurious, deerskin fairly nice - will run you at least a few hundred USD for something large enough for two people, but the fun factor can't be denied.
I got a Big Blanket Co. blanket for my wife this past Christmas. I was initially skeptical about it, mostly because of the price, but we turned out to quite like it.
It actually became our summer blanket in our bedroom. It has a really nice weight to it—which really helps me fall asleep—but without the kind of heat you would expect from that weight. Thickness is pretty similar to the typical fleece/plush blankets, though it's far more "dense," and also somehow breathable. It's soft without being fluffy.
It's really different from any other blankets I've had.
If you are looking for a blanket that's especially warm, then it might not be for you. Otherwise, it might really be worth considering.
I actually have one of these! I love it, but I also get really sweaty in it and can't wear it for extended periods of time
