this seems pretty unsurprising, speaking as someone who spent about 3 years waking up at 5am to be ready by 6:30am to catch a 40 minute school bus ride so i could get to class by 8am. mornings were universally fucking terrible, and a lot of the time during those 3 years i caught additional sleep on the bus ride to make up for what i had to lose to be ready. unfortunately, as the article points out, there's not very many ways to solve this that aren't radical (and therefore things school districts are unlikely to want to go for).
