Living off grid? Can you share your living situation?

I've written about my living situation previously but am curious as to whether there are any other tilderinos living off grid. What sort of accommodation do you live in? What do you do for a living (if anything)? Are you self sufficient to done extent? How do you use technology to improve your lifestyle?

I've always been a fan of hydrogen and solar only because they're two of the most abundant resources we have (for most of the world at least). I was researching setups for heating and cooking directly with hydrogen back in the early 2000's and found several heaters and stoves that would do this, but can't seem to find them anymore. I wonder if safety risks or low adoption is the reason. Regardless, the idea of water vapor as a byproduct in winter was so interesting and experiencing cooking on a stove like a grill but enveloping the food in a water vapor was so enticing.

But I still see some huge benefits for hydrogen and solar even if that kind of direct heating and use of hydrogen is not an option. Here's and example that I really hope will gain traction and scale to larger city applications.

Offtopic, since I don't live off-grid and so don't have anything to share about that... but @welly, do you mind if I ask you a few questions about living on a longboat? I'm asking this because I don't want to derail your topic, but longboats are super neat and have always made me really curious. I used to see them putting along the canals all the time when I lived in the UK, and a whole bunch were constantly moored up below our flat on the Shad Thames, but I have never actually had the opportunity to ask someone who lived in one some questions about them.
