i take sargon's word about his intentions about as genuinely as i take richard spencer's which is to say that 95% of the time it's deflectionary bullshit about how I WASN'T A NAZI UNTIL YOU MADE ME A NAZI, LEFTISTS!, and this is coming from someone who was a sargon fan at one point (and also fell out of watching sargon even back when i was still in reactionary circles because he is so full of shit most of the time)

How are you still falling for this? Carl is not acting in good faith

I'd really rather not give Youtube a reason to recommend more of his videos (or anyone like him) to me. Do you have a transcript available?

I'd also prefer not to increase his view count, because views beget views.

If anyone has a transcript of his "rebuttal", it would be great.

The "free speech" defense in this is so incredibly stupid. It completely gives up on defending the meaning of the statement itself, and just says "it's not illegal." Okay, great. You may as well defend it on the grounds of grammatical correctness.

And it's still a disgusting thing to say. You can't just act like an asshole, then turn around and act like the people you bothered are the real assholes for calling you an asshole, because you were intentionally being an asshole.

I mean, I guess technically you can, and that's good enough for Sargon et al.

How on earth does someone get kicked of Patreon and Twitter, then get invited into a major British Political Party? Is their recruitment methodology find someone on Youtube who's local, has an audience and doesn't apologize for their shitty opinions? Is this going to be a thing now, the podcast to politics pipeline?

I'd say that a party to ensure the completion of an impending event that will see itself to completion within the year is a weird thing to base a party around, but all of our grassroots parties in the states boil down to "Eff you, I won't do what you tell me, and that's why you should put me in charge" until they're aquihired by the people in charge. So I guess I don't get politics.

UKIP really isnt that major of a political party in the UK anymore.

in actual electoral politics within the UK, this is true because UKIP gets fucked by the FPTP system. however, with european elections (which is what sargon is standing in), delegation is done using closed-list proportional representation by d'hondt method, so UKIP is likely to do at least well enough to continue to win seats in the european parliament. we have a bit of polling which suggests the 26% of votes that went to UKIP in the 2014 elections basically just gets split between them and farage's Brexit Party, which suggests they should pick up somewhere between 5 and 10 seats, depending on the distribution of their votes.
