I’m sure Netflix is incredibly disappointed after acquiring the film earlier this year specifically to be their big Oscar contender, after Power of the Dog lost Best Picture. This also comes after White Noise, the 100+ million dollar budgeted Noah Baumbach film, received a muted reception at the same film festival.

All of this highlighting Netflix’s habit of burning money. This might mark the end of Netflix supporting auteur driven films.
