It's more polished than the last SMB movie, and it'll probably make a lot of money, but I dunno. Does it spark joy? Not really.

This seems like a competent movie for kids and highly dedicated die-hard fans. I'm neither.

Mario's stories were never spectacular, that is not why you play Mario games. The studio will probably make enough money. But what does Nintendo has to gain? Maybe it helps present the character to a much younger generation. Do kids these days really care about Mario?

What’s going to happen is that I am going to be dragged to see this movie. And then immediately afterwards I am going to see the old Super Mario Brothers movie just to see which one makes me happier.
