O’Neal was wildly hated. Considered a terrible person, definitely was a terrible father. And, now this is what a friend told me, apparently sexually assaulted or attempted to sexually assault Drew Barrymore which resulted in Spielberg blacklisting O’Neal from Hollywood. I’ve not seen sources on that to be fair.
It’s strange seeing glowing tributes. Especially from Mia Farrow who has a certain public perception thanks to her relentless Woody Allen allegations.
