So this is a Sundance film that indeed received mixed reviews. I'm not super following the logic of posting this here though, and not just cause I don't think any of the Vulture critics are good....

I'm not super following the logic of posting this here though, and not just cause I don't think any of the Vulture critics are good. I don't think this is the type of film that gets wide distribution from a proper distrubtor. A lot of festival flops meet similar fates just like I.S.S which was released last weekend with very little fanfare by Bleecker Street who is basically the death knell distributor of any film. Or in more dire situations you have something like Cat Person which lost millions of dollars after the biggest offer came from Netflix was declined as it would have resulted in a loss for the financiers.
There's a couple of movies being raved at Sundance right now. Here's the RT page for this year's Sundance. Metacritic used to do this to but they stopped after their re-design.
There's also been some pretty major sales at Sundance, including Searchlight Picture buying A Real Pain from Jesse Eisenberg for 12 million dollars and Netflix buying the horror film It's What's Inside for 17 million dollars.
I can only wish YOShInOn and I could be logical about it, but for now it is about vectors and emotions. It's a tricky business because I don't want to post anything similar to what's already on...
