This was announced three years ago with Stuckmann starting his GoFundMe for the film. That seems like a very long time between raising funds for a film and releasing it (even if it released this year). For comparison, the GoFundMe for Blue Ruin started in 2012 (Sauliner had already put in his own money for the movie as well). The film premiered in 2013 and released officially in 2014. This movie hasn't even premiered.
The history of YouTuber movies are not great. It appears that Talk to Me is the best one (I wasn't even aware that the directors were YouTubers but there are so many YouTubers now a days that I don't know about). Joe Penna (a.k.a MysteryGuitarMan) apparently did well with a film called Arctic which released in 2018.
But outside of those it's stuff like Smiley (2012) or The Smosh Movie, or The Angry Video Game Nerd movie. A lot of trash. And when looking at, specifically, YouTube film critics that made movies, we have Ralph Sepe and his poorly received film Lover (2017). As well as RedLetterMedia's poorly received films (even by themselves). I've only seen Space Cop from RLM, but I thought it sucked. RLM was able to withstand fan backlash from Space Cop because it wasn't hyped much by them, and they're so hyper-self-aware of themselves that they outright called it bad right away. Whereas Ralphthemoviemaker's backlash to Lover absolutely destroyed him, people realized he kind of didn't have a lot of talent or skill and now he's like a zombie going through his YouTube channel. He's really young too, so it's a shame he's given up so quickly.
I don't have confidence that this is gonna be good. If you have ever watched a short film by Chris Stuckmann, or read his fanfiction of BvS, then you know why. The dude has a very limited skill set. He was one of the first YouTube critics I ever watched, but he was also the first one I stopped watching. I have a feeling this is gonna really hurt him.
