There's usually an Oscar contender here every year, last year it was A Real Pain (which Searchlight bought and is now nominated for two Oscar's) and the year before was Past Lives (which received a Best Picture nomination). Nothing here made as much noise as Past Lives, though in fairness that movie had such a response we hadn't seen at Sundance since 2017's Call Me By Your Name.
I suppose the film with the strongest response was: If I Had Legs I'd Kick You from A24. Kiss of the Spider-Woman a musical adaptation of the film with the same name got some positive notices albeit mixed critical reception. And, finally, Train Dreams got positive reviews and comparisons to Terrence Malick. Train Dreams was purchased by Netflix and could serve as a potential back-up if their film from Noah Baumbach flops.

Oh interesting -- love the novella, didn't realize they were making a film.
Yeah the director of 2021’s Jockey is behind it, the co-screenwriter of the film directed Sing Sing and they’re both back on this.
