I love that he mentioned Kurosawa’s Dreams, especially since he's the first person to do so on Closet Picks, AFAIK. IMO it is such an insanely underrated film, and it's a shame that none of the other self-proclaimed Kurosawa fans that I've talked to have ever seen it. Even now, I can close my eyes and still perfectly envision so many scenes from it. The Blizzard vignette, in particular, has been permanently imprinted into my brain. So I highly, highly recommend giving Dreams a watch.
p.s. Like Isaac also mentioned, watching it while high is a truly mindblowing experience and I would definitely recommend others consider doing the same for their first time watching it too, if they can. ;)
I totally understand why smoking weed is not enjoyed by everyone, and it's sadly not legal everywhere either... I'm lucky enough to be Canadian so don't have to worry about the latter issue. But...

But IMO it undeniably enhances the film watching experience by a significant amount, and if you can safely get your hands on some before watching Dreams, I would definitely recommend it. :P
I still run into a lot of people who are surprised to hear what I'm about to say, so on the off chance it helps someone here... (America BTW) At least for now, even illegal states have places you...

At least for now, even illegal states have places you can buy marijuana. Google "dispensary near me" and start calling places up asking if they have "THCA flower". Flower is what dispensaries call the actual buds, and THCA is just THC that hasn't been heated up yet. These places are abusing a loophole in the Farmer's Bill that legalized CBD; lawmakers are trying to fix the loophole, but it hasn't happened yet.
The loophole has been mostly plugged, unfortunately https://www.forbes.com/sites/alonzomartinez/2025/12/05/congress-bans-delta-8-and-thca-under-new-hemp-law/...

Huh, I didn't know it actually happened. It takes effect November of this year, so I guess it's time to stock up!
