Not sure how well this is going to land. Chav culture kinda declined by the late-2000s (which is probably a big reason why Sacha Baron Cohen retired the character in the first place), and Tim Westwood, the DJ and radio presenter who inspired Ali G's character in the first place, is currently awaiting trial for serious sex offences.

It’s really more Amazon. Amazon distributed Borat Subsequent Moviefilm in 2020. Establishing a relationship with Cohen. They then acquired MGM in 2022 which they release almost all of their films...

I do respect him for giving it a shot. I feel Ali G was his best character as it didn't really disparage any one person (despite its direct inspiration). Bruno can really put to light how people can be homophobic, but the role itself leans too much on stereotypes and tropes. Borat is the same and too one note to carry more films than the first.

I'm confused. I thought Sasha Cohen Baron retired Ali G because the character was too well known to fool anyone, undercutting Ali G's entire premise.

It looks like the parts where he was tricking people were all in the US.
