    I'm reading through the study itself, and I'm glad it's willing to be frank with what it's saying:

    They saw its arguments for equality of gender, race and class as a new, leftist takeover
    of Star Wars, even though Star Wars has always been politically left-leaning.

    I just realized that I've been identifying "talking points" for years now. I've often assumed there was some central source of the information, like a YouTube video or a thread on some chan. Recognizing that these could simply be paid trolls is enlightening.

    I have maybe a crazy idea but what if it's Russia who propels a lot of similarly titled news lately, so people would become fed up and sympathise Russia (which is its goal)

      Seems like a dangerous gamble, besides Russia didn't use outlets like Mashable to propagate it's news. They used twitter and/or curated sites and Facebook groups, I wouldn't put it past them to...

      Seems like a dangerous gamble, besides Russia didn't use outlets like Mashable to propagate it's news. They used twitter and/or curated sites and Facebook groups, I wouldn't put it past them to try and work their influence in through more serious media outlets but it clearly wasn't their initial angle.
