There's a game that came out earlier this year (In US,UK & AU) called Detective Pikachu. Its more in line with that game than the original show. He's got an odd voice in the video game as well....

But he looks so adorable, and this is coming from someone who's usually really wary of studio inserted "cute" characters in movies.
This looks like buckets of fun. I'm not expecting high-art, but what a good time it will be. I love that they're going for a Pokemon-world, and not just our world with Pokemon shoved into it...

Looks good tbh. Fun fact: in Brazilian Portuguese, “pika” is slang for penis. Makes for some silly jokes.
I still think Danny Devito would've been much better as a Pikachu voice actor
