I’ll get around to seeing it but I don’t have my hopes up that’ll come anywhere close to the Jeff Bridges masterpiece

Don't get me wrong, I like John Turturro— I haven't seen anything he's directed though. The character of The Jesus was probably my least favorite part of TBL. 8 year olds, Dude. I'd probably rather watch a spin-off movie about any of the other characters besides him.

It turns out that the situation is even weirder than that too. Apparently this is actually a remake of a controversial French film from 1974 called Going Places. Obviously that movie has no connection with The Big Lebowski, so it's just bizarre to remake it with some (one?) of the characters from an unrelated "world".
Apparently it was released at the Rome Film Festival in October, so it's been available in Italy: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt5974030/releaseinfo I didn't realize that either.
Looks like a slow-burn, slice-of-life movie with low-stakes-- which is fine, but... I dunno, I haven't been charmed by one since Away We Go or Nebraska. And the way this trailer is cut to make it...

I saw this trailer last night. I have never seen a movie trailer that has elicited so little emotion from me. My train of thought had me going from "Is that The Jesus from The Big Lebowski?" and...

The Big Lebowsky really didn't need any expanding upon, and even if it was having a moment, that moment has surely passed.

Looks appealing, but it gets below 5 on IMDB...
