I wasn’t sure about the logic behind this, but my wife pointed out that it makes perfect sense. They were delaying the release so that they could keep making money off of the stage show. Why would someone pay $200 for a theater ticket when they can spend $10 for a movie ticket?

But the stage shows are obviously stopped and won’t be restarting for quite a while, so it doesn’t make sense to keep it behind locked doors anymore.

I'm so excited for this! The show is suppose to be in our city later this year, but who knows now.

My wife and I got to see it about a year and a half ago. Her sister bought us all tickets since she won the lottery the venue was holding. We paid $90 each (plus the Ticketmaster extortion fees) and ended up in the 4th balcony. The people were so small you could barely see their body movements. The music was absolutely amazing though.

I'm excited to see it up close and personal.

If you're into stealing, there's a half-decent bootleg that is filmed from two locations with a little of the official footage cut in. Is it perfect? No. But is it pretty good? Not really... But...

The people filming it had pretty good seats, too. I have no idea how they got away with it, to be honest. From what I've read, they've been pretty good about busting people with phones, cameras, etc. Lin-Manuel Miranda even called a lady out during My Shot.
