Tildes Film Festival: How????
There were a ton of interesting ideas proposed on the previous thread
We could all just watch whatever we want, whenever we want and have periodic posts.
Someone smarter than me could schedule a Discord (whatever that is).
I for one am down with just watching a bunch of unusual movies, and then having weekly discussions.
Selecting a few new movies to watch every week (so people can watch them whenever it's convenient, and at their own pace), then posting a discussion at the end of that week for them, sounds perfect to me. If people want to use Discord or some other chat program to watch the movies together, that's cool... but I definitely don't think it should be mandatory.
I agree very strongly with that.
My past experience with online film/TV/book clubs makes me think anything else will peter out pretty quickly. I think the best approach is to start simple and complicate it if/when there is enough momentum.
I think it's also fairly dependent on an individual or group being motivated enough to drive things and push through any doldrums.
I'm happy to be proved wrong though!
Can we have a specific window/deadline for nominations? Just so we can check in to vote for any late submissions.
Is there an estimate date for when the festival will begin?
Metastream is pretty great.
