While there are many YouTubers I watch and rewatch the videos of regularly, Dan Olsen is hands down the most frequent. I could almost quote his video on The Wall at this point, and this video and his snowman video are also really great introductions to his channel. I would strongly suggest his channel to anyone and everyone. In my opinion, while his wall video is the one I watch the most, I think his video about Annihilation is his best work. As someone who was obsessed with the Annihilation books and hated the movie after my first viewing because I felt it missed the all the things that made the book good and interesting, Dan pointed out very well and clearly what the message of the film was and all the incredible things I had missed or misunderstood because I was so focused on the book. It’s honestly now one of my favorite movies of all time and it is all because Dan made a video of insane quality. 100/10 for this channel.
The first time I saw this video was summer 2017. And it’s a video I re-watch every now and then. It taught me a lot about film editing, and it helped me better articulate my thoughts when...
