Welcome to the heydey of prog rock, ladies and gentlemen!

Lord of the Rings was highly influential in this era of music, and an absolutely stunning amount of music was inspired by it.

In this vein, the cover for Pink Floyd's "Wish You Were Here" was sold shrouded in a black plastic cover obscuring the art we see now. My father in law regaled a tale about him and his buddies getting high, and them listening to the album. He had already had the album for months, playing it regularily. Then one time after getting blitzed, when going to flip the disc, they finally discover the actual artwork. Quite a surprise.

It's the same with spotify. It's like they taunt you by being able to enlarge it just enough so you still can't really enjoy it. It infuriates me. Somebody in the youtube comments is praising the canvas feature on spotify mobile as a step in the right direction and I disagree strongly. I immediately turned it off when they launched it because it felt like an add that just repeated itself over and over and added nothing but stress to the experience. Also when listening to music on your phone it's not in eyesight a lot of the time so maybe the focus should be elsewhere. I listen to a lot of spotify on my comp and TV and these platforms seems to have the potential to take album art into the digital world because it's "there" and you see it.
