I appreciate his work is skilfully constructed, and I have a lot of respect for the guy because I know he's had some really tough times and he's still kicking and saying difficult and important things and helping other people who are suffering too (the comments on his videos are testament to that) - but I just don't really like his music.
This is an excellent video, and such a heartbreaking story behind the track as well.

Excellent videos and very well crafted. I haven't listened to a lot, and I quite admire the paired songs about that poor young mother and her twins. I usually love spoken word and the music is solid and "a dude and his guitar" is probably as close to my favorite genre as possible but.......
But not a fan, no.
Perhaps it's the subject matter? Or perhaps, I'm ashamed to admit, perhaps his pain makes me look away uncomfortably?
I thought about this....but I think Ren is in a healthier and better place than Bo Burnham is, and I am a fan of Bo and his art.

My personal favorite cover/mashup of his+The Big Push is from that same set: I Shot the Sheriff/Road to Zion/Hip Hop Soo fucking good. I would kill to see him live.
