The reverse of this, Paramore's cover of Burning Down the House, recently made for A24's Talking Heads Tribute Album to go alongside their Stop Making Sense 4k remaster, is also fun too. cc:...

cc: @kfwyre, since I think you might enjoy these as another Paramore fan

Paramore has been on another level since Hard Times. I love every album from them, but seeing their sound mature and evolve into this new wave style is so fun to see.

    Edit:
I'd like to iterate that I meant I like Paramores take on David Byrne more than David Byrne in relation to Hard Times specifically.

How long ago was Hard Times? God, 7 years ago, time flies by so fast. At the time people really liked this song, didn't chart and I certainly did not hear this on the radio

Can't believe it's been that long. I know a lot of Paramore fans who just didn't get into this album, so I'm not surprised it didn't chart.

Well, it not charting is more to do with the shifting of pop and the sidelining of mainstream rock. I was about 16 at the time when that song came out, the biggest song of the year was 'Closer' by the Chainsmokers and it was one of those EDM-pop songs which was huge. Absolute garbage.

Rock as a whole in the 2010s was still quite popular but it just wasn't on the top 40, this is probably because of execs still thinking of rock as "anything predominantly from the 90s and before".

Oh man, I remember the mid 2010s EDM-Pop craze. I was not a fan. Back then I was listening to a lot of bands like Manchester Orchestra.

    Tag suggestion

Can we start tagging music videos with the tag music video in addition to video? I was thinking about filtering out music videos, but I realized that most of them are just tagged as videos. I don't expect to really watch many music videos posted on Tildes, but I am interested, for example, in news about Spotify.

The current system is that official music videos get tagged with music videos and everything that isn't one as videos. But I have a plan.
