Artem is actually going to be here in Toronto in September playing at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre. A few of my Ukrainian friends are super excited about that. He apparently puts on a hell of a show too, with a full orchestra and male choir performing with him.

I am going to his concert in Chicago next month! I'm excited to see it and how it goes, but your comment raises the hype meter.

I imagine whether he performs with the orchestra will entirely depend on the size of the venue. I don't know anything about where he is playing in Chicago (Joe's Live), but the Queen Elizabeth here is pretty damn big, and could easily accommodate that many people on stage. The promotional picture for the tour has an orchestra in the background so I presume they will be there in Chicago too? Although the "Orchestra Live" description is only shown above NYC and Toronto, so maybe not. :(

I like the analog '80s vibes of the video, lots of nods to Peter Gabriel, Robert Palmer, Weird Science, etc. I'm sure I missed a bunch! Is YABADABADU a reference to Fred Flintstone or just a coincidence? (If I understood the lyrics I'm sure that would make more sense...)

I don't know if it is a full on reference to the Flintstones myself, but the gist I get from this song is it is describing being in a toxic relationship with someone, and battling with wanting to be with them. But I am not an expert in Ukrainian language and the song has a lot of poetry behind it that may have a different meaning than my interpretation. So maybe just using it to make the song more whimsical and catchy?
