My tastes tend to run towards new music in old styles. I love a track that came out yesterday but sounds like it's from 1973 or 1952. I've been collecting music like this for over a decade. Once in a while I get around to making a mixtape out of the mess I've collected. I have these up on Spotify, though I haven't marked them as public until just now.
Some of the tracks are missing from the Spotify sets since Spotify doesn't have them. I've also got these up on my mixcloud and on 8tracks, both of which will provide a more seamless listening experience if you're a straight-through listener who doesn't jump from track to track.
Somewhat related is my Misc playlist on Spotify which is just a big bit-bucket where I file away the tracks that strike my fancy for later listening. It's mostly in the same vein of music, but not organized in any way. Tracks in here will probably end up on future Sounds Vintage mixtapes.
You might also like the collaborative ones I help put together with the rest of the listentothis crew (many of whom are here on tildes). These are massive lists meant to recommend new artists to people, and feature every genre of music you can imagine, and some you can't. Best place to start is with the Best of 2017 Top Tracks set. It has been mixified a bit, genres are close to each other and there's some flow. If you enjoy this sort of crate digging, the profile for that listentothis account has dozens more playlists going back about four years. If you recognize the artists in these playlists then we aren't doing our jobs. ;)

I started building this playlist back when turntable.fm was still a thing. It's all over the place as far as genre goes, but it contains a lot of my favorites.
I have a lot of other public playlists on my Spotify profile that are more narrowly defined. Feel free to check those out too, if you like.
If you have Spotify premium, jqbx.fm is a fantastic replacement. I was looking for a replacement for years (never liked plug.dj), and jqbx is the closest you'll get to the turntable days. The only...

That's awesome, I'll definitely check it out.
I miss turntable.fm. Do you know of a service that has come close to replacing it?

Thank you! That looks like a cool service. I don’t have a Spotify account, but this gives me another reason to consider one.
