2012? Pretty sure this is from 1971's Minnows. You should check out his album Ambush as well, from right after his stint with @Parliament's and my favorite pianist Leon Russell & the Asylum Choir

Possibly, but as I discussed elsewhere in the comments CDBaby is the only source that lists this release (i.e., not on discogs or MusicBrainz), which makes me a bit skeptical. Maybe that's just...

If it makes you feel better, youtube lies to you too :P Pretty sure this is all because CD Baby lists the release as 2012, which is particularly hilarious since Discogs only shows CD re-releases...

Bet Musicbrainz would get it right. Whenever we get around to having Tildes look all this up for us on links we should probably treat that as the most reliable source of record.

Huh. Weirdly MB doesn't list Minnows at all. Honestly my own hierarchy of trust is essentially: discogs (easiest / best user interface, looks like they have a decent API as well) MB Allmusic /...

Wow never heard of it before but there are definitely a lot of hidden treasures. I think I'm going to spend the next days digging through the "best of all time". Thanks!

I haven't spent much time on Marc Benno at all, but I do know of him. Just added Minnows to my library. Anything else to check out?
Most likely a release/remaster from 2012

Maybe that's just when CDBaby got the rights?
Spotify also lists his albums as 2010 and after, with no remaster labels. Weird
That's what I get for trusting Spotify's numbers. :/
Tags fixed anyway. I'm digging into his catalog right now, pretty rad collection.

I think if we pulled from discogs and MB, we'd be pretty safe
I think we can run local copies of Discogs too, so we don't have to hit the web every time. It'd be nice to do it all with internal lookups.
Wait nevermind, I'm already familiar with Ambush. I remember when I listened to that months ago.
Just a little gem I stumbled across recently, seems pretty obscure.
Maybe it's the two beers I just drank, but the track is picking me up. I'm pretty surprised it has 2000 views. Great Find.
You might like /r/vintageobscura too. That's one of reddit's quiet little miracles.
