C&C is a band that I've wanted to like for a long time. When they first got really popular I couldn't stand the lead singer's voice but I've since grown to like it. Despite that, none of their last few albums did anything for me. I'm a few songs into this so far and I really dig it though thanks for sharing!

It's weird how that happens. I heard "The Suffering" through my brother as my first C&C song and really disliked the singer. Then I played the crap out of "Welcome Home" on Rock Band and looked up the rest of their stuff. I'm a big fan up until "Year of the Black Rainbow". Their sound became very busy, and there was just too much going on for me to enjoy listening to it. Nevertheless, I'll give this one a try to see how it compares.

That's a shame man, YOTBR is the black sheep of the catalogue. The Afterman Duology is very solid and a superb record

This sounds really good though! Now I have to go listen what else they've put out in the last 10 years.

It probably didn't help that Year of the Black Rainbow and the Afterman albums were both prequels to the main "Amory Wars" storyline that C&C drew upon to make the Good Apollo albums.

I'm so glad Coheed and Cambria are back on their bullshit. I have been a fan since In Keep Secrets of Silent Earth: 3. That still remains, to me, the best Coheed album to be released. Like others have mentioned, I was a little disappointed with their mainstream turn with Year of the Black Rainbow (though, Here We Are Juggernaut is a straight banger) and found The Color Before the Sun not the reason I listen to Coheed, even if it's a competent album.

But this is glorious. A true return to form. They dropped a little bit of the heavy Iron Maiden influence that was in The Afterman, and truthfully, I like their version of Maiden better than actual Maiden. But this still rips. Track after track. So nice to have them release something back in a concept, telling a story with a decent amount of tracks (15! prog rock is back!).

Can't believe this came out on the same day as new Fucked Up (also concept), Cursive and Ice Nine Kills (also concept). After a bit of a dry spell in the type of rock I listen to, suddenly the flood gates are open. Hope I can give them all the listening time they deserve.

Can anybody recommend a site where I can buy the CD that isn't Amazon or WalMart?

Thanks. I'll consider them as a last resort.
