This week's album and EP releases
Here's a list of a things that came out in this past week, up through Friday. Of course, there's no way to be completely comprehensive with this and I avoided including things where information was too lacking, so feel free to mention anything that isn't on here that you think is worth mentioning. Beyond that, if you have any thoughts of any of these albums, it would be great to hear them :)

My pick would be Blu & Exile's True & Livin EP. It's only three songs long, so you have no excuse.
Blu is an exceptional MC who's chosen to mostly fly under the radar since his disagreements with Warner Bros in 2011. His work with Exile in the late 2000s in legendary, and it's so exciting to see them back together producing great music. They're both still at the top of their game, returning with a more reflective and mature sound, but still with that silky smooth, soulful west coast charm mixed to perfection.
My thoughts on the albums I have listened to so far:
Flying Lotus - Flamagra (Nu Jazz, Glitch Hop) - Song.link
I have never heard of Flying Lotus before, but the genres caught my eye. It was... interesting? Far too "out there" for me though. I don't even know if I would even consider half the tracks as songs... or even music, TBH. Not particularly enjoyable.
Morrissey - California Son (Chamber Pop, Art Pop) - Song.link
I have heard and enjoyed a few Morrisey songs here and there but never listened to a complete album of his before... and I probably never will again. I absolutely love cover songs, but he somehow managed to strip all the character from the songs he chose to cover, making even the classics sound super generic and incredibly bland.
Mavis Staples - We Get By (Southern Soul, Deep Soul) - Song.link - Spotify
Just good, old fashioned, Southern Soul, Gospel and Blues music. The title track ft. Ben Harper was especially good.
Sting - My Songs (Pop Rock) - Song.link
This is a "Greatest Hits" album but with a twist; All the songs were re-recorded with some slight variations to their instrumentation and composition. I love Sting and this was decent... I wish he had tried completely re-imagining the songs entirely instead though, as that would have been far more interesting IMO.
The Lonely Island - The Unauthorized Bash Brothers Experience (Comedy Rap) - Netflix - Spotify
Lonely Island, like most comedy music, is very hit or miss with me. This was mostly a miss. The production value of the "visual poem" on Netflix was great, but the songs themselves were only mildly amusing and the music not particularly enjoyable.
