Wouldn't a fair trial be the very definition of justice? It's sad to see how little faith these celebrities appear to have in the Swedish justice system. Or maybe it's the opposite; they fear a world where celebrities are actually prosecuted for their alleged crimes.
it's probably the latter; i mean, the kardashians in particular were literally made into famous people as the ultimate consequence of a trial which highlighted that even minority rich people could get off on shit like murders they're obviously guilty of with good enough lawyers while poor minorities will get 20 years in prison for an ounce of marijuana in some places.
I'm willing to bet the last. I'm certain half these celebrities have done shady shit themselves, and A$AP getting convicted means they're not safe either. Good for Sweden I say, if he really did assault someone, and how disgusting to have Trump getting involved. God, November 2020 can't come soon enough.
Also, this is minor, but is Justin Bieber American now?
Wikipedia says he's still Canadian. Though we Europeans often use "American" as meaning "from the continent of America".
I did not know the name of the Swedish PM before today but now I know his name and respect him for telling Trump to kick rocks and having respect for his own country's legal procecess. If only we where so lucky in the US.
Actually his name is Löfven. I'm somewhat disappointed in The Guardian for getting it wrong. Even Trump's Twitter guy was able to spell it correctly.
It's Sweden, not Thailand. I'm sure that if convicted he'll be kicked out of the country and sternly told by a tall smiling Swede to never come back.
EDIT: The less bad option is he served a sentence in a Swedish prison, which I think would put him in better conditions than extradition and serving his sentence in the US.
What a fucking joke this presidency is. I would type up more but saying anything more than that makes me realize that this whole term has been a thin veneer of one tabloid article after another, with abhorrent racist policy underneath.
