That's actually one thing we have talked about already on ~. Pretty much all of us here hate the no self-promotion rules on reddit, the ways it's unfair, ripe for abuse and has forced users to...

e.g. JimKB having to use imgur to host his comics since he can't just post links from his own site.
Screw that, I say let people share their own stuff and it can stand on its own merits. :)
Agree! And truly do feel no shame. One of my one joys in composing music, is to share. As they say, Music is a universal language. Music appreciation has started so many new conversations, that...

Music appreciation has started so many new conversations, that often times have lead to deep friendships among other enriching experiences. Other occasions sharing some music lead to critique and criticism that helped motivate me to work harder and develop and refine my skills.
Sharing economics don't work well if participants don't feel encouraged to create and share!
