I've been waiting with baited breath for this list. <3 Ours will be heating up again soon. If you've got late additions now's the time! I haven't even put mine in yet, no time until Sunday at least.

I already contributed seven or eight jazz albums to that thread and could probably add at least that many more, but I don't want to drown out other contributors, nor make the final list totally...

I’m very excited for our list! Thanks for organizing it, Amarok.

I think I'm getting old. I probably found only about twenty or thirty records I liked this year... which is still pretty great, but less than normal. That Duma record sounds insane... From this...

From this list, I really like Jeff Parker's Suite for Max Brown, Sault's Black is and Rise (these have been on regular rotation since they came out), Okkyung Lee's Yeo-Neun, and that Sufjan record. I'm going to check out that Duval Timothy record, though.

Some other records I liked this year
    • Alabaster dePlume - To Cy & Lee: Instrumentals Vol. 1
    • Andy Shauf - The Neon Skyline (also check out Foxwarren from 2018)
    • Carlos Rafael Rivera - The Queen's Gambit OST
    • Cults - Host (alright, but not nearly as good as the earlier stuff)
    • Damien Jurado - What's New, Tomboy?
    • Father John Misty - Anthem +3
    • Fiona Apple - Fetch The Bolt Cutters
    • Fleet Foxes - Shore
    • Gillian Welch - Boots No. 2: The Lost Songs, Vol. 1
    • Irreversible Entanglements - Who Sent You?
    • Khruangbin - Mordechai
    • Lo Tom - LP2
    • Rose City Band - Summerlong
    • Ryusenkei & Hitomitoi - Talio
    • Serge Gainsbourg - A La Maison De La Radio (recorded in '64 and '66)
    • Strange Magic - Melatonin Doomsday Blues
    • Tame Impala - The Slow Rush
    • The Microphones - Microphones in 2020
    • Wolf Parade - Thin Mind
