Genuinely considering installing TikTok off the back of this - I live for this kind of traditional music
Made me install TikTok y'day. Some background regarding the lyrics in Wikipedia.
I don't use TikTok, but I do check /r/TikTokCringe every once in a while, since there is some brilliant comedy and musical bits that get posted there. So for people like myself who don't actually want to install or use TikTok but still enjoy seeing stuff from it occasionally, that subreddit is a pretty nice alternative.
p.s. Worth noting is that despite the subreddit name, it's not actually like other "cringe" focused subreddits; It's basically just a Best of TikTok these days with cringeworthy content in the minority, and the comments are well moderated and generally kept pretty wholesome.
Tik Tok has always been an odd bird of a platform for me, but with the Duet functionality, it builds a pretty good case for being a easy collaboration tool for artists. It would be nice if there was the option to line up the vertical videos into a more conventional aspect ratio instead of the black space, but I am no longer a youth in their demo, so maybe they like it.
Update: Nathan Evans has signed a record deal and had a studio and a dance version produced, and some of the people who joined in also made a version available on Bandcamp and proceeds benefit the Marine Conservation Society.
