That's the real issue. Journalists worked hard in the past to remain unbiased and show both sides of the situation, but that was back when there was truth on both sides. Vienna's housing policy is a socialist darling, but they also allow far more for-profit development than countries like the US. The primary issue with the US housing market is not greedy developers. It's NIMBYs blocking any housing developments. Developers would love to build more housing if it was legal and didn't get randomly rejected.
