You are sorely mistaken. They are not bombing homes—they are bombing military targets that were built on or near civilian structures because they know it works. This situation is very specifically addressed by international humanitarian organizations. From the ICRC:

The laws of war prohibit direct attacks on civilian objects, like schools. They also prohibit direct attacks against hospitals and medical staff, which are specially protected under IHL. That said, a hospital or school may become a legitimate military target if it contributes to specific military operations of the enemy and if its destruction offers a definite military advantage for the attacking side.

If there is any doubt, they cannot be attacked. Hospitals only lose their protection in certain circumstances - for example if a hospital is being used as a base from which to launch an attack, as a weapons depot, or to hide healthy soldiers/fighters. And there are certain conditions too.

Before a party to a conflict can respond to such acts by attacking, it has to give a warning, with a time limit, and the other party has to have ignored that warning.

I don't understand how you can think what Israel is doing in Gaza is targeting civilians. They are targeting Hamas, and Hamas is forcing the Palestinian people, often at gunpoint, to die for the cause. The global community has continually refused to depose or otherwise unseat Hamas, which may not be the wrong move, but the Palestinian people are suffering deeply for it.

Saying that you must use pronouns with respect to a person's sex does not mean they cannot be differently-gendered, as evidenced by the many people who identify as transgender but request the pronouns of their sex. They absolutely are not saying that non-cisgendered people do not exist. They obviously do.

No, "certain grade levels" is referring to K-3, and after that it must be age- and standards-appropriate. Read the actual text of the bill, section 3:

Maybe I don't understand--why wouldn't an AP Psychology course be allowed to discuss the issues mentioned in the article? By any reading of the law, it seems totally above board.

What a terrible talk. It's a man having a personal existential crisis (which I hope he is dealing with) but then moralizing it and, even worse, preaching its virtue to his students. The doomerism I'm seeing as of the last few years is staggering and, to my mind, the biggest impediment to fixing our problems. These people are violating basic tenets of cognitive behavioral therapy. History shows us how silly and insignificant our fears of impending doom are.

If you enter this conversation with the idea that "they" should be more introspective (i.e. because they're "wrong"), then it certainly sounds like you're not being very introspective about your ideas, either. Things like interracial marriage were seen as minority and deeply unsettling perspectives, once. Thank God we didn't let popularity get in the way of them.

It seems like he misunderstands the premise. When someone says "you couldn't make Blazing Saddles today," they're not saying you couldn't make "Blazing Saddles" the movie itself -- of course you couldn't. It's a dated movie that, while still hilarious, skewers westerns, which haven't been relevant in decades. They're saying you couldn't make a movie with the same kind of irreverence and opposition to cultural norms. He doesn't seem to want to grapple with that.
